Is it time for a hearing test?
The TV Test
Your first true hearing test is the volume you put on your TV. If you already know that you need a higher volume to hear, or if people are complaining that it is too loud for them, you should probably consider coming in for a hearing test.
Are you struggling in conversation? Are you saying “what” a lot?
Having difficulty understanding conversations in a group setting can make you feel left out and isolated. It is time for a hearing test if you are frustrated because you can’t understand what your family and friends.
Common signs of a hearing loss:
- not being able to hear children
- struggling in a new environment
- you think everyone is mumbling
- you can’t understand anyone in a noisy environment
- you ask people to repeat themselves

Walter Wolosiansky
Audiologist
After completing two Master’s degrees, Walt Wolosiansky made his debut in the working world as an audiologist for an ear, nose and throat specialist. After a few years, he realized that in order to achieve his goal of personalized, convenient care he would have to devote time to learning everything he could about the hearing aid industry: the various devices, the unique fittings, and the need for customized service.
Walt created Community Hearing Service in 1989 with the determination to provide high quality, personalized care to the community. He designed the business from the ground up, dedicated to spending the necessary time to counsel clients and prescribing the most appropriate and cost-effective hearing aids solution.
Walt is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association, Ohio Speech and Hearing Association, Academy of Dispensing Audiology and a Fellow of American Academy of Audiology.
His hobbies include spending time with his kids & grandkids, playing sand volleyball, swimming, going to the YMCA, traveling, watching college baseball and, of course, supporting the Cleveland Browns, Guardians, and Cavaliers. He is also an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
